Recipes wanted
Hi everyone,
What sort of things do you cook and give to your newfs, do you make biscuits, cakes or do you give your dogs the end bits of pastry cooked up for them, or even just give them the burnt bits. Do you make yoghurt for them? Give them the ends of the baby food? what little bits and pieces do YOU give? Jackie

So far I haven't had to cook for Thunder, he eats almost anything- worse than a Labrador. He is exceptionally fond of fruit of all kinds, except citrus (and he lives in Florida, shame on him). He also loves carrots. If the horses aren't out when we take our walk we eat their carrots. He can tell by hearing the crunch when I've bitten into one and demands his share. I do have a couple of doggy cook books but haven't tried the recipes yet.

Must admit l'm the most awful of cooks - l can burn a boiled egg!!! So l don't often actually cook my girls anything. They love raw carrots to munch, they like baked liver - which l also managed to burn so much in the microwave that it actually melted and the microwave sparked, and they like frozen yogurt, tripe sticks, and any uncharred left overs we may occassionally have!!!LOL

Can you send me some, I think you`ve passed it on. Been eating Bean salad!
Must admit I don`t very often, well actually seldom cook, well never cook any thing for the dogs these days, used to make a LOT of Liver cake when we were showing, but it seems to have gone out of sight, out of mind. but do give them them raw cabbage stalks, cauliflower/ broccoli stalks, and sprouts etc. when doing our meals. they love apples, oranges, banana, p-nuts, walnuts, hazel (cob) nuts, crisps. Have just found in Asda on their `cheapy` every item £1 stall, bags of tiny dried fresh fish (anchovies) for Cats ---- the dogs love them as treats, and theres very little smell to them.

I made Tucker and his puppy class some treats that were a big hit!
three cups of whole oats (grind up in a blender to make into "flour" two or three tablespoons of crisco two eggs a tablespoon vanilla one cup vanilla baking chips (like chocolate chips only vanilla flavored) mix all ingredients well & spread on cookie sheet bake at 300 degrees until desired crispness The pups would do anything for these! I also vary this recipe up by shredding carrots to the mix or adding in peanut butter. I bit of baking soda can be added as well and put in muffin pan for "pup cakes"! The oat flour is good especially if your pup has wheat allergies too.
